Dr. Energy Saver Teams Up with Dow

In 2012, Dr. Energy Saver began a partnership with Dow to deliver innovative insulation products to our dealers and customers. Dow’s extensive line of high quality insulation products allows Dr. Energy Saver to help our dealers as they help homeowners be more comfortable in their homes and lower the cost of home ownership  For example, Dow’s THERMAX™ (fire-rated insulating foam board) is proving ideal for applications where insulation will be exposed to living space. In addition, Dow’s Froth-Pak disposable foam kits (200 and 620 board foot) and its 17-gal. refillable foam system have proven to be very popular with our dealers. In the near future, Dow’s standard one part foam will be co-branded with Dr. Energy Saver — so you will see both the Dr. Energy Saver and Dow logos on our labels!

Dow Products in Our Line:

THERMAX™ Sheathing is a non-structural, rigid board insulation consisting of a glass-fiber-reinforced polyisocyanurate foam core laminated between sheets of reflective aluminum foil on both sides. The reinforcement, along with chemical modifications, contributes to fire resistance and dimensional stability. THERMAX™ Sheathing can be installed so it’s exposed to the interior without a thermal barrier and is especially appropriate for hourly rated assemblies. Interior applications include unfinished attics, basements and crawl spaces. Exterior applications include insulating behind masonry, siding, and stucco.

FROTH-PAK™ Foam Sealant is a two-component, quick-cure polyurethane foam that fills cavities, penetrations, cracks and expansion joints. Cure time is short because FROTH-PAK™ is chemically cured. Upon being dispensed, it expands and becomes tack-free in seconds. It skins over in 30-40 seconds and completely cures in minutes, depending on temperature. Common applications for this product include sealing air leaks around recessed lights, attic access ways, sill plates, rim/band joists, flues, ducts and vents, and electrical outlets and switches. It is also well suited for filling voids in many roofing applications, including at chimney and vent flashings and at roof and wall intersections.
