What type of insulation is best for my home?

If you’re wondering what insulation option is worth the cost, consider spray foam insulation. Spray foam insulation outperforms alternative insulation in many categories, including: R-value, durability, air sealing, versatility, and resistance to mold and moisture damage. It will make your home more comfortable and efficient for the long haul. Plus, spray foam insulation comes with the following advantages:

  • Closed-cell spray foam is waterproof & won’t support mold growth
  • Stops air leaks while providing insulation value
  • Won’t fall out of place, compress, or lose R-value like traditional fiberglass insulation
  • Incredible gap & crack filling capability

Comment: We have a cathedral ceiling above our living room. That area of the roof is subject to ice dams in the winter. I'd like to get some ideas on options to improve the insulation in that area. Living room ceiling is tongue and groove.

Comment: I know there are a few areas that are particularly drafty in our home. We also have some rooms that get less heat than others, and a room that is insulated but does not have heat. We are looking for recommendations on what needs to be done in our home and the estimated price per project

Comment: We just installed five vinyl replacement windows in our sunroom, but it's still so cold and drafty in there! I need help determining where the cold air is coming from and how to stop it. (Not so much concerned with the rest of the house, though I'm sure there are drafts in there too. It's really this one room that we want to "solve.")

Project Location: Duluth, MN 55804

Comment: Need estimate to seal and insulate attic. We purchased the home in fall of 2013 and put in a new geothermal system that fall. The new Geo system has not been able to keep up with energy demands when the temps fall below 5 degrees. After months of troubleshooting, we discovered that there is only 3.5" of fiberglass batting in the attic. The Geothermal contractor had originally sized the system based on an assumption that the attic was insulated to code (R-30) at the time it was built (1970). Discovery of the under-insulated attic explains why the geo system is not able to keep up with the load. I have one estimate from another contractor who can start work next week, so would like to get an estimate from your company ASAP so that I can make a decision. Please call my cell phone. Thank you.
