Project Location: Lexington, SC 29072

Comment: A little over a week ago my main lower floor ac unit stopped working. I also have a separate upstairs unit which I feel never worked that well. I feel like the upstairs crawl spaced are not vented properly, and they let too much heat into the upstairs. Also our west facing side of the house lets lots of heat in thru the windows. Overall concerned that the whole house hearing and ac is not as effective as it could be. House was built in 1988 has cedar siding with blue board foam sheeting.

Comment: We have a medium/large two story house that needs a lot of touch-ups. Certain areas like the hallways and downstairs stay cold but the rooms stay hot, but the temperature still reads cold so it blows hotter etc. and vice versa. There are many drafts, from the doors to the attic door. There are many windows and I feel they are not insulating anything. The house hasn't received a tune-up of the energy-saving kind since at least 16 years ago, and it could really use it. We're basically looking for the all-around fix. Thanks. Please give me a call anytime after 2 p.m. EST.

Comment: The house was built about 1998 and I am just starting to go through and work on sealing things now after I found a difference in humidity up to downstairs. There was a renovation done as well that took what was unusable attic space and turned it into an entire room and also turned a rafter area into a storage room. I do not see anyone that works in SC but I liked your video and felt it was very helpful in describing the what and how. My problem is that while I feel like I can probably trust the guy I saw on that video, that does not always transfer to whoever you guys use in the various local areas. There are some shady people out there. If you do not do this area, do you have any recommendations for potential vendors to use? Thanks in advance!

Comment: Garage insulation. Garage door, Walls and additional ceiling insulation. House also feels under insulated, but we are going to be putting a freezer in our garage and feel that starting with fully insulating the garage is a good place to start to keep the rest of the house cooler. The garage is attached to the house, but only the walls attached to the living space are insulated. Possibly a ductless air conditioning unit in the garage after insulating the space as well.
