Insulated Attic Storage Deck in Bridgeport, CT

The owners of this home wanted to upgrade the insulation in their attic, so Dr. Energy Saver installed our blown in Cellulose insulation. They requested for extra storage space in their attic without compromising the energy efficiency of the room, so to meet their needs, we constructed an insulated storage deck across a portion of their attic. To install this decking, we first laid down our rigid SilverGlo foam board across the ceiling joists. SilverGlo is a rigid foam board infused with graphite, which boosts its insulation value by 24% over standard EPS foam. We then covered the SilverGlo with Oriented Strand Board (OSB). To keep the blown insulation off the storage area, we installed dams around the perimeter of the insulated decking. Not only did this job add valuable attic storage space, it made the whole home more comfortable and less drafty!

Professional Insulation Installation in Bridgeport, CT

This Bridgeport, CT resident had an old attic with faulty insulation that was in desperate need of replacing. They gave us a call at Dr. Energy Saver of Connecticut, and we were happy to come out, and give their attic the insulation upgrade it needed.

Our Home Comfort Specialist, Keith Saunders, came out to the home, and quickly diagnosed the problem at hand, and what was needed to get their home feeling comfortable again! Dan Kiley and his team came out, and quickly got to work. The first thing they did was spray foam the entire attic area using our Spray Polyurethane Foam. SPF expands after application, effectively filling voids and uniquely shaped spaces, allowing for full coverage. It stops air leakage, it's waterproof and stable! Compared to their old fiberglass insulation, this was a definite improvement. Dan and his team also installed a Sanidry dehumidifier, to clear out any humid air from the space.

This family can now rest easy in having a much more comfortable space, and much lower energy bills! Give us a call TODAY for your free energy evaluation!

Crawlspace Insulation in Oxford, CT

The old-fashioned way to insulate a crawlspace was to install fiberglass batt insulation between the joists, and to vent the crawl space so that outside air could circulate beneath the house. Unfortunately, Fiberglass insulation doesn’t respond well to the moist conditions that can be found in this area of the home. The cotton-like material absorbs moisture, compresses or sags, and loses R-value like it did in this home. The Dr. Energy Saver of Connecticut team insulated the crawlspace walls using spray foam, and we installed insulation and our CleanSpace vapor barrier on the floor. This home is now more energy efficient and comfortable with a clean and properly insulated crawl space.

Attic Insulation in Oxford, CT

The owners of this home wanted better attic insulation and having room for storage was a huge priority. To accomodate their needs, we installed an insulated deck. Beneath the wood is our SilverGlo rigid insulation. Unlike fiberglass batts, which can compress, lose R-value and even fall out of place, rigid foam stays put once it's installed. It creates a flat, smooth barrier that retains its original R-value forever! When the joints between foam panels are sealed correctly, rigid foam acts as an air and thermal barrier. Afterwards, blown cellulose was installed everywhere outside the retention damns. With our innovative insulation products, we were able to save these homeowners money on their monthly energy costs!

Upgraded Attic Insulation in Stratford

This attic in Stratford, CT wasn't properly insulated. The existing insulation had little to no R-Value, the insulation was scattered and was not doing any good for the homes energy efficiency. Having a home that has an attic with poorly preforming insulation can run your monthly utility bills up a pretty penny. This homeowner wanted a space that could be used for storage but was also energy efficient and provided enough insulation for their family to live comfortably in the rooms below. We installed blown-in insulation over most of the attic, raising the R Value up to R60 from the previous next to nothing value it had before. Blown in insulation offers more uniform and thorough coverage than typical fiberglass batts. We also built an insulated catwalk using particle board and rigid foam insulation with retaining dams to keep the storage area clean of blown cellulose. This room is much more attractive looking and doubles as a storage haven and will now be one of the most energy efficient rooms in the house! This homeowner couldn't be happier with their new space!
