Over time, a support beam in this Dixmont, ME, home began to rot, causing the floor to become uneven. The homeowner, who had lived in the home since the 1980s with no plans to move, decided to fix the problem and called TC Hafford Basement Systems. System Design Specialist Alan Noyes met with the homeowner and spent time in the crawl space evaluating the damage before sitting down to design a system specifically for this home. Since the support beam was rotting, it needed to be replaced. Alan decided that the best solution for the home would be a new supplemental beam with four SmartJacks. Once installed in the crawl space, SmartJack supports can correct issues such as sloping or overly springy floors, interior wall cracks, and out-of-level door frames. The floors are now stable, and the homeowner no longer has to worry about further damage to the structure of the home.
Owners of a duplex in Rockland, Maine noticed their foundation wall was bowing and had stair-step cracking which often indicates structural issues. To repair their foundation wall, rather than excavating or lifting the home, we pour a new StableLock Wall against the failing wall. StableLock is a concrete wall with a patented system that attaches to the home to keep it secure, preventing the bowing wall from any further movement. The basement has a dirt floor, allowing moisture to seep in, so we also installed a TripleSafe sump pump to remove water from the space.
TC Hafford Basement Systems helped Rockland, ME homeowners with their failing foundation wall. Their old rock wall was cracking and bowing, allowing water into the basement constantly. The homeowners were using their shop vac daily and could not keep up with the water intrusion. We installed a new StableLock Wall in front of the failing foundation wall. StableLock is a poured concrete wall that stops the old wall from further shifting or bowing, and provides proper stability to the home. It is less costly and intrusive than traditional methods of foundation repair, which often involve excavation and lifting of the home.
We helped repair this Swanville, Maine basement that had a bowing wall concerning the potential buyers for the home. We installed StableLock Wall, which is our patented concrete wall system poured next to the failing wall. We use specialized bracing that prevents the old wall from shifting any further, while properly supporting the home to stabilize it. Traditional foundation repairs often involve major excavation and lifting the home, so StableLock is a less costly and disruptive solution!
We met with homeowners in Belfast, Maine who had large cracks forming in their foundation wall and could see the wall was bulging. The owners were concerned about the structural integrity of the home. Horizontal cracking is often a red flag for potential structural issues. When hydrostatic pressure builds up from water against the outside of the foundation walls, the weight of that water can push in on the wall, causing it to bulge and bow, and creating horizontal cracks. We installed StableLock Wall system to keep their home protected. Rather than excavating the old wall and having to lift the home, we can easily go in and pour a new concrete wall with patented bracing against the failing wall. StableLock stops the old wall from shifting further, and keeps the home protected. It is a less costly and intrusive option to install.
