Wall Decay in Wolfeboro, NH

Homeowner in Wolfeboro, NH reached out to TC Hafford Basement Systems with concerns about the walls in their basement garage. They had dealt with leaking for 25 years, coming from all walls during every rain, and over time causing some wall decay and crumbling. Our System Design Specialist Rick Russell met with the homeowner to review a plan for repair. Our foreman Joshua Benton and installer Korey Sanborn completed the work, including CleanSpace, WaterGuard, and a SuperSump system. CleanSpace is a durable, bright white vapor barrier made of inorganic materials that seals up the area and keeps moisture out.  A SuperSump was installed to collect groundwater and pumps out of the basement and away from the home through a new Exterior Buried Discharge line. Now the homeowner is able to relax knowing that their basement garage is protected and their home is more energy efficient.

A New Hampshire Crawl Space Needing Help

This Middleton, NH, homeowner was dealing with musty smells coming from their crawl space, and the open dirt floor was leading to moisture issues. The homeowner knew they wanted a vapor barrier to be installed in their basement, so they called TC Hafford Basement Systems for help. System Design Specialist Rick Russell met with the homeowner for a free estimate and worked with them to design a system to keep moisture out of their crawl space.

The first step in encapsulating the crawl space was to lay down CleanSpace with Drainage Matting. Drainage Matting is durable, and with the large dimpled design, a gap is created between the CleanSpace and outside elements. CleanSpaces bright white design helps reflect light, creating a more illuminated area that is perfect for storage. Encapsulating a crawl space benefits the area by keeping out moisture and critters, protecting the home, and creating a healthier environment. A Sump Liner was installed to make the installation of a sump pump easier in the future if it becomes necessary. To finish the encapsulation system, SprayFoam was installed on the rim joists to fully protect the home. Now that the crawl space is fully encapsulated, the homeowners’ worries are taken away, and the space that caused them concern is now a perfect area for storage.

Encapsulating Flooded Crawl Space in Rochester, NH

Moisture in a crawl space can weaken and damage the wooden supports to the home over time through mold or wood rot. We encapsulated the crawl space with drainage matting and CleanSpace vapor barrier, sealing out water. A SmartSump pump was installed to control the groundwater. We also installed a SaniDry Sedona, which is a high efficiency air system that removes moisture from the air to keep the crawl space at a healthy humidity level.

Renovating Your Crawl Space

This Lovell, ME, homeowner is in the process of renovating their home, and to complete the renovation, they need to tackle their crawl space. Mold, rodents, and critters were a nuisance, and ready to take care of the issue and get rid of their unwanted guests, the homeowner called TC Hafford Basement Systems. System Design Specialist Sam Crowley met with the homeowner and worked with them to design a system for their crawl space that would protect the health of the home and keep strange critters out.

This allows for a quick and easy sump pump installation in case it is needed in the future. Finally, a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier was installed with a Condensate Pump so humidity is kept at a safe level, without the need to ever dump a bucket of water.

The crawl space is now encapsulated and protected from outside elements, and the homeowner can move on to the next step of their home renovation.
