Before, the client’s basement in Duluth, MN, was plagued by extensive water damage. Moisture seeped through the foundation, creating an environment that was not only damp but also prone to mold growth. This made the space uninhabitable, and the client was concerned about the safety and comfort of their family, especially as they planned to convert the basement into bedrooms for their children in the future. The existing conditions made it clear that a quick fix wouldn’t suffice—this basement needed a lasting, comprehensive solution to ensure it was both safe and functional for years to come.

To address the problem, we installed the WaterGuard system to efficiently channel water away from the basement. Coupled with the TripleSafe sump pump, this setup ensured that any water that entered the space was immediately removed, preventing further damage. We also installed the SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier to tackle the excess moisture in the air, keeping the environment dry and helping to prevent future mold growth. To eliminate any existing mold risks, we applied Mold-X2, a powerful antimicrobial solution, to ensure the air quality remained healthy.

With the moisture and water issues under control, we turned our attention to transforming the basement into a livable space. We used Elite Plank flooring, which is durable, waterproof, and perfect for a basement environment. The Basement Finishing System helped us create a beautiful, functional, and cozy atmosphere, making the space not only dry and secure but also inviting and comfortable for the family.

Design Specialist, Henrik Makitalo visited with the resorts building manager to discuss possible solutions to their hallway ceilings in the resort. Henrik provided the building manager with a great option of using ceiling tiles from our basement finishing product line. Foreman, Drew Sundberg and his crew installed the tiles and everyone was pleased with the result. 

Our clients called DBS looking to install a drop ceiling in their home, so we sent our Design Specialist, Henrik Makitalo, to the home to create a proposal. Henrik recommended that the homeowners install a linen ceiling tiles into the home for a fresh new appearance. Homes often install drop ceilings for modern design aesthetic, environmental factors, acoustics, and more. DBS was happy to help the homeowners and install the drop ceiling!
