A homeowner from Floodwood, MN reached out to DBS looking for help with their damp, musty crawl space. One of our Design Specialists, James Miller, went to the home to run a free no-obligation estimate appointment. After a thorough inspection, our Design Specialist provided the homeowner with a free quote for our Crawl Space Encapsulation Service. One of our crews led by Foreman, Jacob Nemec, installed our 3-layer crawl space encapsulation products. First, they installed a drainage matting, then TerraBlock™ foam for insulation, and lastly a layer of CleanSpace® water vapor barrier to seal the space. They also sprayed polyurethane along the walls to air-seal the space. Now the homeowner can relax with peace of mind in a healthy, safe, and comfortable home!

This home in Maple, WI was used as a rental home. The property owners wanted to get rid of the musty smell in the home to create a healthy environment for their tenants and wanted to have the crawl space properly insulated to prevent pipes from freezing.

Design Specialist Henry Jungbauer went out to the property to conduct a free no-obligation estimate for the owners. After a thorough inspection, he informed the owners that DBS had solutions for all of their issues.

Foreman Raeshawn Pelfrey led the installation for this project with assistance from a crew. Together they cleaned out the fallen and moldy insulation. Then the crew laid down drainage matting over the ground to direct the flow of water. TerraBlock™ foam insulation was installed over the drainage matting to prevent frost build-up. Finally, a layer of CleanSpace® vapor barrier was installed to seal off the insulation. The crew also applied spray foam into the rim joists to completely air-seal the space.

Now that the crawl space has been properly insulated, the owners will experience warmer floors and lower heating bills because of their energy-efficient solution.

This customer reached out to DBS after noticing their home was relatively cold, especially with the floors. The customer's expectations included achieving better insulation and having a more energy-efficient home. Once our Design Specialist was able to get out to the property, they recommended a plan that involved removing the current fiberglass and applying our Dr. Energy® spray foam to the rim joist to help keep the floor permanently insulated. Once our crew was able to get out to the property and install the spray foam, the customer was happy with the quick fix and solution.

New homeowners in Aurora, MN wanted to protect their home from the extreme temperature fluctuations in our region. Their vented crawl space allowed for outside air to enter their home, creating humid conditions in the summer and cold drafts in the winter. Interested in our crawl space encapsulation system, they contacted DBS for a free, no-obligation estimate.

Production Manager Steve Lafontaine visited the home and completed a thorough inspection of the dirt crawl space. He proposed our full encapsulation system for the space, as well as a crawl space sump pump to keep water up and out of the home. 

Our Dr. Energy Saver® Austin Sande Foreman led this crawl space encapsulation project. Our crew began by removing the existing plastic in the crawl space and prepping the dirt floor for sealing. From there, they installed our three-layer system: drainage matting to capture moisture, TerraBlock™ crawl space insulation, and our CleanSpace® vapor barrier to prevent any moisture from creating condensation and wet humid air in the space.

Foreman Nicholas Woods II led the team in the installation of this project. The team started by removing any debris and old insulation in order to identify any cracks or holes in the space that needed to be air-sealed. After identifying and sealing these spots, the team began to blow in the TruSoft™ cellulose insulation. This is an effective, eco-friendly solution that is made of recycled materials. This can be built up or down for the needed R-value of the home and is resistant to mold, fire, and animals.
