The insulation in the attic of this home in Deposit, NY wasn't adequate.

First the existing insulation was removed.  The attic was then air sealed and 14 inches of cellulose insulation was blown in.  The attic will now be more comfortable and energy efficient as a result.

Side attics can be tricky, especially in cape cods. These areas are hard to insulate and are culprits of being very leaky which attributes to the large temperature change in the attic versus the rest of the home. These side attics specifically were inaccessible which meant that we needed to go in from the outside and make our own entrance. That is exactly what we did and now this attic is very well insulated and will help the homeowners be much more comfortable.

3 inches of closed cell foam was sprayed to the roof deck and gable ends which made the space much more comfortable and energy efficient when it was finished.
