Living next to the marsh in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, is the sweet coastal life. For coastal home foundations, there are preventative measures needed in order to live in such a humid area. We install 4" perforated drainage pipe w/silt sock along the perimeter of crawl space and then install a drainage matting over the floor of the crawl space. Second step is prevent cupping of wood floors. We install a dehumidifier, clean out/prep the crawl space, wrap piers, install a new access panel with weather stripping and secure it with toggle bolts.
