Walking into your basement and stepping in a puddle is never a good sign. This Gorham, ME homeowner purchased this 1930’s home over 5 years ago and wants to make this their forever home but were nervous about water and the condition of their foundation. Wanting to tackle the issues of the basement, the homeowner called TC Hafford Basement System for a free estimate on protecting the health of their home. System Design Specialist Foster Blake met with the homeowner, and they worked together to address all concerns, including the water coming in, the foundation, and mold.

Starting from the ground up, this home needed a new slab. With the old one as cracked and broken as it was, water would come up and form puddles. Before the new slab was poured, Drainage Matting was laid, and WaterGuard Interior Basement Drain was placed around the perimeter of the basement. The WaterGuard is connected to a TripleSafe Sump Pump that takes the water and pushes it out of a discharge line, so the water will no longer be an issue. Moisture in the air is still a concern, as high humidity leads to mold growth. To combat moisture, a SaniDry Sedona was installed, maintaining optimal humidity.

The homeowner can live in their forever home without being concerned about the health of their home. It is easy to forget that if you buy a two-story home with a bad basement, then that is 1/3 of your home that cannot be utilized. The homeowner now has the ability to use their basement as they see fit and can finish it without worry.

We helped Saco, ME homeowners solve their water problems with our comprehensive waterproofing system. The homeowners indicated water was coming in through a crack in their basement wall. We installed WaterGuard, a perimeter drainage system that channels any moisture directly to the new TripleSafe sump pump system. We also added BrighWall panels on the basement walls. BrightWall gives the basement a fresh new look, is durable, and easy to clean. It's moisture resistant and helps keep the basement dry. 

Homeowners in Saco, ME needed help with their basement that has cinder block walls letting water in. To waterproof the space, we installed WaterGuard, a perimeter drainage system. WaterGuard collects water and channels it directly to the TripleSafe sump pump. The TripleSafe is the top of the line sump pump that has two Zoeller pumps, as well as a battery back up in the event of power loss. Water is pumped away from the home through an exterior buried discharge line that is protected with IceGuard so it does not freeze up in the winter. The homeowners no longer have to worry about cleaning up from a wet mess.

This Saco, ME, homeowner developed an issue in their basement in the last six months where water would come in and begin to ruin their finished walls. To begin the waterproofing process, WaterGuard was installed around the perimeter of the basement to catch and channel water to the new TripleSafe Sump Pump. The TripleSafe Sump Pump houses two Zoeller sumps and an additional battery backup in case of a power failure during a storm, keeping the basement protected. In high-traffic areas such as doorways, TrenchDrain was installed and connected to the WaterGuard. A SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier was installed to keep the humidity in the basement at a safe level, and because the SaniDry drains directly to the TripleSafe, the homeowner never has to worry about emptying a bucket. To finish the waterproofing system, the TripleSafe was connected to a brand new External Buried Discharge line. The Discharge line takes the water far from the home, and with the installed IceGuard, ice buildup won't be a problem, and the system will function all year long. The homeowner is happy that they can finally finish their basement without the risk of their hard work and money going to waste.

The TripleSafe drains water out of the basement and through an Exterior Buried Discharge line that is protected against ice buildup with IceGuard. CleanSpace Wall System was installed to act as a vapor barrier where needed and channel any additional moisture from the cracked walls to the WaterGuard. Now our homeowners and their son can relax knowing the basement is protected!
