Homeowners in Duluth, MN were looking for an insulation solution for the upper level of their house. Part unsealed attic, part living space, they knew that proper insulation would be more comfort and lower heating and cooling bills.
Our Dr. Energy Saver® Design Specialist Jacob Nustad-Peluso went to the home and provided a free, no-obligation estimate for this family. After inspecting the property and conducting an energy audit, it was determined that spray foam insulatio and blown-in insulation in the attic were necessary to effectively insulate the space.
DBS Foreman Orrin Sundberg and his crew first completely air sealed the space with ZypFoam, concentrating on gaps in the building material and spaces surrounding the attic ducts. From there, they applied 1 inch of spray foam to the roof deck. They then used our TruSoft™ cellulose, covering the roof deck in 18-inches of soft, yet dense insulation. TruSoft™ has a higher R-value than fiberglass and other cellulose materials, perfect for use in our northern climate.
The homeowners were happy with the work done and can now enjoy comfortable temperatures throughout their home this winter.
Homeowners in Virginia built this new garage on their property that they were in the process of finishing. In order to enjoy that space year-round, they knew they needed a permanent solution to keep it comfortable.
Our Dr. Energy Saver® Design Specialist Henry Jungbauer visited the home and provided a free, no-obligation estimate for the insulation work. Foreman Orrin Sundberg and his production crew installed 3 inches of closed-cell spray foam to seal and insulate the structure. Spray foam expands after its applied, reaching tight spaces and filling gaps where air could escape.
Both the garage level and room above it are now completely sealed and insulated. These homeowners can now enjoy a comfortable garage space year-round!

Our WaterGuard® drain system was put into place and will effectively capture wall and floor seepage, directing it to the home's existing sump pump.
DBS Foreman Zach Royer and his production crew then performed the foundation support work. They installed a PowerBrace™ Wall Bracing System, attaching steel I-beams to the concrete floor and the basement rim joists. This PowerBrace™ Wall Bracing System, is meant to support walls from further movement and can be tightened over time, in order to restore the walls to their original position. The PowerBrace™ beams are zinc-plated and backed with a 75-year warranty against movement. Additionally, they installed 3 GeoLock™ earth anchors were recommended to stabilize the failing partially underground walls.
