Homeowners of this older home in Minneapolis, MN had bouncy floors on their main level. Soft spots in the floor meant that support in the basements was lacking. They called DBS to schedule a free, no-obligation estimate for our expertise in diagnosing the structural issues.
DBS Design Specialist Nathan Schroeder visited the home and gave a thorough inspection. He pinpointed the weak areas in the floor and evaluated the basement support system. Because this home was built in 1901, it is not surprising that some of the floor joists are starting to droop. Nathan suggesting installing our SmartJack® System.
DBS Foreman Zach Jorenby and his basement repair crew installed supplemental supports for the sinking floor joists, as well as our SmartJack® System. Each SmartJack® vertical support beam is secured to the basement ceiling, as sealed with concrete into the basement floor. Made from galvanized steel, these beams are adjusted with a heavy-duty threaded rod to meet any basement or crawlspace ceiling. Once installed, they offer permanent stabilization.
This Minneapolis, MN home was built in the 1970s. Last year, the homeowner noticed the sunroom was sloping and in need of some structural help. The owners decided to schedule a free, no-obligation estimate for our foundation repair service.
A DBS Design Specialist in Foundation Repair visited the home for a thorough inspection. After measuring movement in the home and crawl space, a plan to stabilize the sinking sunroom floors was created.
DBS Foreman Zach Jorenby and his crew began the stabilization by installing 24 feet of supplemental beam to offer more horizontal support for the space. Beneath it, they installed 4 SmartJacks and completed a lift procedure to transfer the weight of the home to stable soil.
The built-in garage in this Saint Paul, MN home had bowing walls. Because the garage was partially below-grade, soil movement was causing the walls and crack and shift inward. After receiving a recommendation to contact DBS for a free, no-obligation estimate, this homeowner gave us a call.
DBS Design Specialist Henry Jungbauer visited the home and provided a thorough estimate of the garage space. Because the garage was partially below-grade, Henry suggested two systems to fully stabilized the walls. First, the PowerBrace™ Wall Bracing System, to stop movement. Second, the GeoLock™ Wall Anchor System to put the walls in place using a combination of interior wall plates and exterior wall anchors.
DBS Basement Repair Foreman Zach Jorenby and his crew installed both systems. In total, 7 PowerBrace beams 4 GeoLocks were installed to restore this failing foundation.
