The major issue with dirt-floor crawl spaces is that they attract and absorb moisture. Once the dirt dries, it causes humidity levels to rise dramatically, which can then lead to mold and mildew issues.
After that, we installed SilverGlo™ over the old vents throughout the crawl space. SilverGlo™ is a waterproof foam insulation that seals the walls from outside moisture and humidity.
We also installed end caps that closes off the system to keep out birds, bees, squirrels, and other nuisance pests.
The fiberglass insulation throughout the attic was old, dirty, and underperforming. While fiberglass is strong and lightweight, it is also brittle and can be easily damaged.
Almost every single piece of insulation throughout the crawl space was contaminated with urine and feces from the mice.
