We just moved into this house and it is our first winter. Ice dams have gotten pretty bad, and it pulled down one of my gutters. I want to find out how we can ensure less of these dams and make the house more energy efficient.

I am interested in the audit and next steps. I believe I have a few walls that are not insulated, a finished attic where the kneel wall is poorly insulated but would still like to keep the storage space, and 2 closets that gather air and moisture easily. I am convinced of cellulose and assume having to go through walls as we have a brick exterior. House built in 1942, know very little about the duct work, and just want this taken care of. We also have a basement that is unfinished and are trying to plan to finish for a living space.
