This homeowner from Linthicum Heights, Maryland was suffering from really cold floors this past winter. She wasn't sure what she could do to fix this problem, but ran into a company who could -- Complete Home Solutions.
We gave her an energy audit to figure out the root cause of her discomfort. We discovered that her crawl space was the main problem. If you leave a crawl space untreated (i.e. no air sealing and no insulation), then you are essentially allowing for cold air to leak into your house from it. This is what has been happening here. Lucky for her we knew how to fix this problem and make this home comfortable!
This Colonial style home in Crofton was suffing from very high energy bills.
Our Auditor performed a complete home energy assessment to determine where the home was leaking air and losing energy. The Production crew provided air sealing to prevent future air leakage. We also installed blown in cellulose insulation to lower the customer's energy bills and improve the overall comfort of the home.
This split level home in Crotton, MD was suffering from cold drafts and called Complete Home Solutions. Our Auditor found the source of the uncomfortable drafts to be insufficient insulation and air sealing problems in between the top and bottom levels of the home.
Our Production Team air sealed the area in between the two levels and insulated the area further to ensure there are no air leaks.
Insufficient attic insulation caused outside air to seep inside this home allowing air conditioning and heated air to escape to the outside. Air sealing the attic and removal of the ineffective insulation and replacing it with blown-in cellulose insulation prevents air from flowing in and out of the home. This home is now more energy efficient and saving this homeowner money on their heating and air conditioning bill. Check out this before & after attic insulation in Severn, MD!
Mark D. has a big, beautiful house in Crofton, Maryland. The problem with having a big house, though, is keeping it from getting drafty. He noticed that he was never quite comfortable and his energy bills were higher than they should have been. So, he called Complete Home Solutions.
We performed a home energy audit and found that the attic was the source for many of his problems. Along with the insulation that we provided inside the attic (including installing TruSoft Cellulose and Polyiso foam board) we had to construct an insulation dam around the attic access hatch. That is what you see here. This creates a barrier which allows for the proper level of insulation in the attic. (It may not look like much, but it is crucial in the weatherization process). Thanks to these installations, we were able to make Mark's home more comfortable and save him money in utility bills!
