When you see insulation like this in your attic, you should notice a problem. When there are "dirty" patches like this, that means air is filtering right through the attic. Complete Home Solutions knows that an attic needs good air sealing and insulation (in this case cellulose insulation) in order to provide a healthy and comfortable home. 

This homeowner had just moved into this beautiful home in Gambrills, Maryland. He loved his new house, but he had already begun to notice how certain rooms would be drafty than others. Before the weather got too cold and problem escelated, he decided to call someone in to diagnose the problem. He remembered hearing about Complete Home Solutions, and so he contacted us to come out and perform a Home Energy Audit.

It didn't take us long to find the problem. We discovered that the attic had no insulation at all. So, we went up there and air sealed all the attic penetrations, installed an attic tent over the attic opening, and installed 14" of TruSoft Cellulose throughout the space. The homeowner noticed the difference in comfort almost immediatly and was grateful that his new house was truly beginning to feel like home.

This homeowner living in Aquasco, Maryland thought that he was paying way too much in utility bills. He knew that there were ways to make his house more energy efficient, but he didn't know what exactly he should do. So, he called up a professional, Complete Home Solutions, to figure it out. 

We provided the homeowner with several solutions to his home energy problem. The biggest solution involved weatherizing his attic. We air sealed the floors and walls of the attic and then installed TruSoft cellulose insulation in order to create a thermal barrier that would stop air from leaking out. He now has a house that is much more energy efficient and costs him much less in utility bills!

Approximately 40-60% of the air that we breathe in our homes comes from our crawl space. So, if your crawl looks anything like the picture featured on the left, you're in trouble. Damp, musky, dirty air is traveling right into your living space and into your lungs. This homeowner did the smart thing and got Complete Home Solutions to come out and fix up her space.

One of the keys to a healthy crawl space is laying down a vapor barrier (that's the white sheet you see in the picture on the right). It stops moisture from forming in your crawl (and moisture in your crawl is never a good thing). We also air sealed the ceiling and put in insulation. Now this homeowner has a safe and healthy home. 

The two things that every attic really needs are air sealing and insulation...and not just any insulation. For instance, the insulation in this "before" picture is definitely NOT what the attic needs...old, dirty, and uneven. An attic like this is bound to be inefficient (which means discomfort in the summer and winter). The homeowner had CHS come out and show them what their attic really needed.

Our crew of experts air sealed the attic up, removed any of the old insulation that was completely ineffective, applied blown in cellulose insulation, and built an insulation dam so that the area would still be accessible to the homeowner when necessary. Now we have an attic that is doing its job - keeping the home comfortable.
