In Dunkirk, Maryland we have a home that heated up way too much in the summer and just about froze in the winter. The problem? An attic that was leaking mass amounts of air in and out of the house. These homeowners had an addition added on to their house some time ago. In creating that addition, a crawl space  was formed. This crawl space was somewhat insulated, but the homeowners still felt cold air and moisture coming from it. They called Complete Home Solutions to find a fix to their problem.

After looking at the crawl space, and the house as a whole, we decided that the best solution for these homeowners was to encapsulate the crawl space.  This involved air sealing  and insulating the walls with spray foam insulation  and installing a vapor barrier along the floor. In doing this, we were able to keep the cold air and moisture from infiltrating the crawl space and ultimately the living space. The end result is a much more comfortable home for this couple.

Delores notice that the living room and kitchen floors in her Dunkirk home were extremely cold during the winter months. She had always assumed that their was no way to the temperatures of her floors since they sat over a crawl space, that was until she heard from a neighbor about the improvements we had made to their crawl space.  After a FREE estimate from one of our trained Home Comfort Specialist, a full crawl space encapsulation was  recommended to fix her comfort issues. The next step was sealing all of the external walls with spray foam, this process closes all the vents that allow air to move into the crawl as well as insulating the area. Our final step is installing a dehumidifier to regulate the humidity in the crawl to a consistent 50-55%.
