This homeowner in West River, Maryland has a beautiful house that he just could never seem to keep warm. He constantly had to turn the thermostat up and still couldn't keep his house at the temperature that he wanted. To fix that this cold season, he called Complete Home Solutions.
We came to his house and performed a Home Energy Audit to diagnose the problem. We found that the insulation in his attic just wasn't cutting it. We went ahead and installed 6" of TruSoft cellulose insulation, which brought up the attic's insulation levels to R-49 (the BPI recommended standard for our climate zone). We also treated the attic access hatch with caulk and weather stripping in order to help keep all that conditioned air where it needs to be. Since these upgrades, the homeowner has already called back to tell us how comfortable they now feel in their own home! During the few cold days that we've had, they didn't even need to use their HVAC system at all. This will definitely be a big benefit to the homeowner in the long run in regard to both comfort and utility bills!

This homeowner in Friendship MD had a crawl space that had moisture problems in their crawl space, which were also causing odor and moisture issues inside their home. Following a call to Complete Home Solutions, our Home Comfort Specialist was able to a make the recommendation of a Crawl Space Encapsulation. Our Encapsulation process removes any ground water with the use of a sump pump, which pumps water form your crawl space away from your home. Our Home Comfort Technicians then seal your crawl space from the earth with the use of our CleanSpace vapor barrier. The vapor barrier prevents any moisture or unwanted pests from entering your crawl space from the ground. We then spray foam the walls of the crawl space. The Spray foam is a to prevent moisture or humidity from coming in from exterior walls of your craw. Our final step was the installation of a dehumidifier, which keeps the humidity of the home between 50-55%.
After completion of the encapsulation the homeowner noticed an immediate difference in the humidity levels in their home, as well as the elimination of the musty smell of the crawl space that was making its way into the home.

Chris's home in Friendship, MD was experiencing comfort issues throughout the first floor. In the winter the floors would be cold, impacting the overall temperature in the first floor. Chris took the right first step by calling Complete Home Solutions to assess the problem . Upon arrival, our trained Home Comfort Specialist began his analysis in the crawl space of the home, where he discovered several key indicators of Chris's uncomfortable first floor. With cracks along the exterior walls of the crawl space as well as insulation that was in pretty rough shape, it was easy to determine that this was the source of the comfort problems.
On the day of the installation our crew began by removing all of the old batt insulation from the floor joist above, before spraying the area with our 2 part closed cell spray foam insulation. The next step was to tape and repair the vapor barrier which was laying on the crawl space floor. Our crew then finished the job by securing the vapor barrier to the walls and sealing the cracks simultaneously. By securing the vapor barrier along the cracks in the wall with our fire block spray foam it now restricts an air from making its way into the crawl space, while also keeping any moisture from rising up from the ground.
Chris noticed an immediate difference in the floor temperature of his home and cant wait to see the difference as the weather outside begins to change.
