Oakton Virginia Spray Foam Insulation

An unfinished basement can offer an easy solution to help make your home more comfortable, have better air quality and lower energy bills.  Spray foam insulation can help to create and air seal along with the insulation value when applied to the rim joists of a home.  This keeps external air and temperatures from entering the home and can help to lock in conditioned air that heats and or cools your home.  We removed the existing fiberglass insulation squares in this Oakton Virginia home.

Oakton Virginia Spray Foam Duct Encapsulation

This home in Oakton Virginia had high energy bills from constantly running the heating and cooling system for the home at different times of year.  After a free home performance evaluation it was determined to be partially due to the HVAC duct system. Metal duct work ran through the attic.  In the summer this attic could get up to 130 degrees and in the winter the temperature could drop to 10 degrees.  Pumping hot air through a cold metal duct in the winter resulted in the air cooling as it travelled through the ducts and not being able to heat the rooms of the home as well as needed.  Pumping cold air through a hot metal duct system in the summer resulted in air that was not as cold as it needed to be to cool off the rooms in the home.

Spray foam encapsulation of the duct systems creates and sealed and safe environment for the conditioned air to travel through and helps that air maintain its intended temperature.

Turning Attic into a Conditioned Space - Prince William County, VA

A home owner in Prince William County, VA wanted to make his home more energy efficient. One of the ways that we helped them do this was by converting the attic into an extension of conditioned space. We did this by installing an average of 3 inch thick closed cell spray foam on the roof and the end walls. This creates a super insulated airtight cap on the top of your home to stop air from leaking out. Closed cell spray foam insulation has a leading R-value of R6.5 per inch and adds to the structural integrity of your roof. Converting this attic resulted in lower fuel and energy bills.
