Ron reached out with a simple goal: make his home more comfortable year-round while reducing high energy bills.

Many homes aren't uncomfortable because of the heating or cooling equipment. Instead, the problem is often hidden in the attic where air leaks and insufficient insulation allow conditioned air to escape and outdoor temperatures to influence the living space.

After evaluating the home, we found several opportunities to improve the attic's performance and strengthen the home's thermal boundary.

Our team began by air sealing the attic to stop uncontrolled airflow from moving between the living space and the attic. We sealed top plates, addressed soffit-related leakage areas, and insulated the attic access opening, which is often one of the largest hidden sources of energy loss.

Once the attic was properly sealed, we upgraded the insulation levels to create a more effective thermal envelope across the home.

This combination of air sealing and insulation is what helps a home stay cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. Instead of constantly losing conditioned air, the home can now hold temperatures more consistently throughout the year. The result is a more comfortable living environment, improved energy efficiency, and a home that's better equipped for every season.

Old batt insulation, unsealed/non-insulated scuttle cover and numerous unsealed penetrations.

Our team arrived and removed all the old batt insulation and prepared the attic for the new insulation.
