Can you tell that these two photos are looking in the same attic? Melvin's Landover, MD home was very uncomfortable, especially on the second floor. Following a call to Complete Home Solutions, our Home Comfort Specialist was able to determine why very quickly. The condition of this attic left a lot to be desired helping with comfort and efficiency issues throughout the home. On the day of the job, our Home Comfort Technicians began the transformation of this attic pulling back the existing insulation to properly air seal the floor, which prevents any conditioned air from being able to escape the living space of the home. Next, our crew install baffles along the eaves of the home to ensure proper ventilation and that we could blow in the correct amount of cellulose to every inch of the attic. The final step was to blow in 16 inches of new stabilized cellulose insulation, which creates the barrier needed between the extreme temperatures of your attic and the rest of your home.
Melvin noticed an immediate difference in comfort and is looking forward to a comfortable home for years to come.

Ben bought his College Park, MD home last year and noticed immediately that the upstairs of the home was much harder to keep comfortable than the main level or basement. Following an inspection from one of our Home Comfort Specialist, it was determined that the insulation level was well below current standards, and no air sealing to speak of, that this was a primary source for air leakage and uncomfortable temperatures throughout the rest of the house. On the day of the job, our Home Comfort technicians began by moving the old insulation to properly air seal the attic, which prevents conditioned air from escaping the living space of your home. We use our fire block foam the seal top plates, recessed lights, drywall seams, and attic hatches to make sure there are no spots for air to escape. The next step was to blow in new cellulose insulation to make sure the attic was properly insulated to 18inches all the way around.
Ben noticed an immediate difference following the upgrades, and can't wait to see the drop in his energy usage, from the improvements made.
