Before our intervention, as depicted in the photo, a Bayfield homeowner grappled with the challenge of water seeping into their basement, compromising the comfort and safety of their home—a familiar yet distressing issue when it affects your own living space. The existing DryTrak® system fell short, leaving behind dampness and ongoing concern.
Upon our expert team's intervention, we bolstered their defenses with DryTrak®—providing effective protection and drainage against foundation wall seepage, while maintaining a clean, finished baseboard appearance—and WaterGuard®. Notice in the after photo how meticulously installed the WaterGuard® system lines the perimeter, offering a robust, virtually invisible solution that channels water into a sump pump rather than the living area.
Our objective was clear: transform a troubling situation into an opportunity to deliver peace of mind and enduring dryness. The outcome? A completely renovated basement, now ready to host life's moments free from the looming threat of water intrusion. With DBS's expertise, persistent problems find permanent solutions, restoring homes to their rightful state: safe, dry, and serene.

These renters in this Lutsen, MN home were having problems with water intrusion. They had to continually patch, fix, and paint the walls. Finally, they said enough is enough and had DBS help them with this project.
Design Specialist, Zach Guilliams, assisted the residents with a free, no-obligation estimate for the home. After careful inspection, the Design Specialist recommended the installation of a WaterGuard® System.
Foreman Dustin Behning, along with a team, led the installation of this project. Together, the team installed the French drainage system in the floor. This drain collects water seepage from the walls and floor joists before it enters the home. It is then transported to a sump pump and discarded outside of the house. The drain is then covered with concrete, creating a flush look.
These residents will no longer have to worry about painting and patching. Once the concrete is dry, the drain system will be on the job.
The owner of this home in Grand Marais, MN experienced issues with dark streaks on the ceiling that was caused by condensation. This issue arises when improper insulation of the attic causes heat to flow into the space and forms ice dams on the roof. Looking for a solution, the homeowner reached out to DBS.
Design Specialist Henry Jungbauer went to the home to conduct a free no-obligation estimate for the homeowner. After a thorough inspection, he informed the homeowners about DBS attic insulation systems that would solve their issue.
Foreman Nicholas Woods II led the installation of this project with help from a crew. Together they removed the old batting insulation in the attic to start with a clean slate. Then they installed TiteShell™ can light covers over the lighting fixtures and sealed each with ZypFoam™ to prevent air leaks through gaps. To complete the air sealing process, the crew applied closed cell spray foam insulation to the floorboards in the attic. Finally, they blew in 18 inches of TruSoft™ cellulose insulation.
The homeowners will be much more comfortable in their homes now that their attic has been properly insulated.
